At this moment when so much attention is being paid to hygiene as we confront the Coronavirus emergency, after following the meticulous cleaning as always carried out and today boosted even more with the use of specific products, our rooms are being further sanitised using an ozone machine. Ozone (O3) is an extremely effective disinfectant recognised by the Italian Ministry of Health as a natural aid for the sterilization of rooms contaminated by viruses, bacteria and moulds. It is also effective against insects and mites, and it destroys the volatile residue of chemical detergents. Since it is a gas, it reaches every point of the room, even the most concealed.

INFO ROOMS

These are the names we have given to our eight en-suite rooms. The names, which translate into English as Acacia, Elderberry, Wild Fennel, Satureja, Candy Dancer, Smoke Bush, Juniper, and Dog-Rose, mirror the colours and details of the interiors, different as they are in each room. Traditional wooden pieces of furniture of the local tradition are finely complemented with the most up-to-date hydro massage showers and wet saunas. Two rooms are disabled friendly.

A little private garden with lawn connects the Lokanda to the Osteria, where you can also enjoy a light meal of local cold cuts and produce, served on a wooden board. You can then choose to effortlessly retreat to your room and enjoy a rest in the quite of nature.

THE COOKING

Gabriella started learning the art of cooking from a very young age. Her origins being Brescian, which is, from Brescia in Lombardy, means she had to learn our local dishes from her mother-in-law's family recipes. Even more, she passionately researched the heritage from a wide range of perspectives and disciplines: the language, traditions, the environment and finally its cuisine. Today, she enjoys working with her daughter Mihaela, and together they prepare the classic local dishes with touches of modern cuisine, just to keep things interesting.

DINING ROOMS

The gostilna, as the typical restaurant is called in the Karst region, features three different dining rooms which cater to 70 people in total. The old rural furniture and other original features create a warm, friendly atmosphere, which in summer extends outdoor in the quiet garden.

A HOME AWAY FROM HOME

The atmosphere is very warm and homely, and guests are welcomed as friends. Tjaša and Tatjana serve the tables, together with Avguštin, a truly pleasant host and skilled sommelier. The relaxed atmosphere created by the well tunes staff continues in the kitchen, where the whole family lends a hand.

Jeden Morgen hat unser Tag fantastischen Anfang gehabt. Das Frühstück war exzellent zubereitet und wir haben ganz vorzüglich gespeist. Die reiche Auswahl von Käse, Aufschnitt, Konfitüren, Kuchen war vorhanden und war selbstgemacht oder aus der Region. Lassen sie sich mal mit Omelett mit Kräutern verwöhnen. Und wenn sie Honig mögen, werden sie begeistert.

Stanza spaziosa, pulita e dotata di tutti i confort. Colazione di qualità eccellente. Ma parliamo della locanda, del ristorante e della selezione di vini. La locanda è il sacro graal dell’enogastromia. Il ristorante ha un’ottima qualità ma la cantina di vini è da rimanere senza fiato. Inoltre Augustin con la sua competenza ci ha programmato un tour in importanti cantine alla scoperta dei vini bianchi macerati del Collio. La prossima volta torneremo sicuramente per visitare le cantine del Carso.

Ottima accoglienza. Camera arredata con mobili d'epoca ma con tutti i servizi, condizionatore, TV, doccia a vapore con idromassaggio. Cena perfetta con piatti tipici. Scelta, quasi a caso, per una sosta di relax al rientro da una vacanza in Dalmazia, si è rivelata una piacevole sorpresa.

Una delle migliori colazione mai mangiate in hotel, con i prodotti artigianali locali e i dolci e le marmellate fatti in casa. La locanda si trova immersa in un paesaggio idilliaco in mezzo al verde e ai boschi. Il ristorante è una delle migliori osterie di tutto il nord est.

Die Lokanda Devetak besteht aus mehreren Gebäuden in einem gepflegten, umzäunten Gelände und fügt sich gut in die mediterrane Karstlandschaft des Monte San Michele - hoch über dem Isonzo - ein. Wir, d.h. sechs verschwitzte Mountainbiker wurden hier freundlichst von der Familie Devetak aufgenommen und umsorgt. Die Räder konnten wir sicher in einem separaten Glashaus unterstellen. Unsere schön möbilierten Zimmer im Nebengebäude waren mit allem erdenklichen Komfort (z.B. "Duschtempel") ausgestattet. Wir haben die exzellente, kreative Küche des Hauses und die vorzüglichen Weine sehr genossen. Besonders erwähnenswert war die unglaubliche Auswahl an Wurst, Käse, hausgemachten Marmeladen, Kuchen etc. beim Frühstück. Der Service war professionell, aber unaufdringlich und stets freundlich. Das Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis ist definitiv nicht zu toppen. Die schöne Umgebung eignet sich bestens zum Wandern und Biken; die Zeugnisse des Ersten Weltkriegs regen zum Nachdenken an. Leider konnten wir hier nur eine Nacht bleiben. Wir danken der Familie Devetak für die genossene Gastfreundschaft und empfehlen das Haus uneingeschränkt und gerne weiter.
