Description
You are welcome to come and enjoy this wonderful place. Relax in the wood-fired hot tub and a cozy guesthouse for 2 to 3 people. The guesthouse has 1 bedroom, a bathroom with shower and toilet, an open kitchen with microwave oven and dishwasher and a living room with (sleeping) corner sofa, dining table and TV. The hot tub is provided with fresh water for each guest, and is an evening of pure enjoyment and relaxation with candlelight and in clear weather the stars.

What is a food forest?

In a food forest, people cooperate with nature instead of fighting against it. The plant species grow in seven growth layers (large trees, small trees, shrubs, herb layer, creeper layer, climbers, fungi/underground) as in a natural forest, where the different species are in balance and work together. The soil is not tilled (after planting) and no chemical pesticides are used. Because of the many species and extensive management, the species diversity of plants and animals increases. The soil recovers and builds up soil life and humus. The plants that grow here therefore contain more vitamins and minerals. This is further enhanced by the fact that much of the food grown here comes from perennial plants. Compared to traditional annual agriculture, very high quality food is produced, CO2 is sequestered and biodiversity is enhanced.

Bed & Breakfast

In the Carstenbos near IJhorst in an open spot in the forest is our guesthouse. It is a wooden chalet of about 3 by 9 meters, which is about 20 meters from our house in the woods. In the bedroom a very comfortable double bed (160 by 200 cm), in the bathroom a shower and toilet, in the open kitchen a sink, refrigerator, microwave oven, dishwasher, kettle and coffeemaker, while in the living room is a corner (sleeping) couch with a small TV and a dining area.

With a cycling network and many hiking trails in the area you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. At 300 meters away is the newly created nature reserve De Vledders, which is a true bird's paradise. The Reest valley is one of the most beautiful stream valleys in the Netherlands with the still meandering stream. And Boswachterij Staphorst with beautiful forests, larger and smaller heaths, a beautiful swimming pond, mountain bike trails and of course bicycle and walking paths. And within 20 km are 2 national parks: Dwingelderveld and Wieden and Weerribben with Giethoorn as a nice attraction.

The wood-fired hot tub

Many guests have already enjoyed our wood-fired hot tub. Soon it will also be possible to reserve the hot tub while not staying in the guesthouse. For that purpose we are moving the hot tub. It is quite a lot of work to set up the new place nicely and meanwhile it is still being used regularly. Once the hot tub is moved (January / February 2022) we will post new pictures. Advantage of the new place is that you will soon have a real view of the forest from the hot tub, while the privacy is also thought.

2 nights is 135, week: 335, 2 weeks: 650, 3 weeks: 975, This is fee for one or two persons, for additional persons is extra payment 15 euro per person for additional pet: 15 euro. 100 euro for security, that will be refunded after leave. 50 euro for additional booking for one evening in the wood fired hot tub
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation policy: Until one week for day of arrival cancellation with 100 % refund Cancellation until 48 hours for day of arrival: 85 % refund Cancellation later than 48 hours before day of arrival but before time of arrival: 50 % refund Cancellation / leave after day of arrival: no refund, security fee will be refunded.
