Beautiful farmhouse with 3 Apartments

Macea is a special place for us. I believe only those who came to us can understand the bond we have with our property. We were born in this handkerchief in the middle of a valley, that of Serchio, close between the chain of the Central Apennines and the Apuan Alps, whose presence can be perceived continually by those who stay in this area. And here we are pursuing a project of valorisation of our territory and the potential of this area. These are the mountains that make this place so special. Our vineyards range from 150 to 350 meters, but the shape of the valley makes the precipitation very thick, the strong thermal hikes in the summer, with hot days and very cool nights.

The vineyards grown are: Sangiovese, Sirah, Pinot Noir and Gray planted by us since 1999. In the vineyards older than 50 years old we have the traditional grapes of the area with some still unrecognized vineyards in these vineyards we have : Ciliegiolo, Black Malvasia, Montanina, Bracelet, Tannet, Barghigiana and so on. but also Malvasia Bianca, Colombana, Trebbiano and so on. From these old vineyards we produce the Caturai Field. Red and White.

Since 2003 we have been following the biodynamic method. From a certification point of view, the company is currently in biological conversion. In the cellar the vinification is spontaneous without the use of selected added yeasts added. We currently work by adding only small amounts of sulfur. The winemaking and turnstile in small tanks ranging from 5 to 10 hectoliters of capacity. When slicing, the wines are placed in barriques where they remain for one year without any confusion. For the first few months, batonage is practiced. After one year the vni are poured in steel where they stand for about six months before bottling.

Business philosophy 
Respect and Humility these principles on which we base our work. Respect for a territory that politics and economic dynamics are destroying. Humility towards nature that is too often treated as something to submit to your liking. Wineries are seen as laboratories where everything is brought to standard conditions. The oenologist must have everything under control to apply the rigorous protocols according to which to make a great wine one has to do some thing, one must add the given product. This is how technology abusing tastes, kills traditions, creating a society that no longer appreciates the simplicity of raw materials. To avoid all this, we try to follow nature, our role becomes to control.

The structure is situated in a hilly area about 20 km from lucca, in a large estate that guarantees privacy and tranquility to get out of traffic and smog of the city and enter a world of pure air silence and genuine foods.
